Arrow Riding Tours was created in 2006 by Martin Smithson and colleague Phil Elgar. As fully qualified motorcycle instructors with 12 years training experience under our belts, we were often being asked “what next”? by our students. Having successfully passed their DSA test the newly qualified riders were finding themselves at a bit of a crossroads as far as developing their skills further other than the occasional ride out on a sunny Sunday. We identified that a gap in the market existed for keen motorcyclists like yourself to learn and practice advanced riding skills on roads other than those familiar to you. Market research revealed that what customers wanted, this led us to develop a learning experience & holiday in the same package! We employ experienced observers who help to ensure everyone gets the individual attention that we pride ourselves on. Martin - A dedicated biker with a keen eye for good roads and an excellent pace setter. Caryll - A female rider with many years of teaching experience and an understanding sympathy for the vertically challenged! Finally Darryl - our youngest crew member, entertainments manager and general eccentric! The whole crew thereby ensures that the needs of both novice and experienced riders are met and gives added flexibility when perhaps some of the group are keen to slow down/speed up etc. We designed a structured format to the holiday, starting with a seminar each morning to discuss and clarify advanced riding skills to be practiced that day, followed by trying them out on the carefully planned route. For example if the days tour was to take place on a predominantly winding road route, we would encourage you to try out counter steering and road positioning etc. After refreshment and photograph stops the day ends with a hearty meal at our Hotel. Past experiences have shown that we can now offer you a wider variety of touring and rider education, taking in some of the most breathtaking scenery in the UK and comparable with beauty spots across the world. We are now in our third year and consequently are branching out to include dedicated tours in Europe, due to demand from our previously satisfied customers as well as more advanced tours for newcomers. hr About us
